Synergy Racing VIR Test for Tim Stephens
October, 2 2005
|
 |
| Tim will drive a Porsche GT3 Cup during a private Synergy Racing test weekend at Virginia International Raceway, October 22-23. He is set to pilot the Rolex Series Porsche for approximately 175 miles of testing around the VIR full course. This will be Tim's second outing in a Rolex GT car this year, the first being in the Michael Baughman Racing Corvette Z06 at Daytona International Speedway prior to the Rolex 24. Experienced around the VIR layout, this time Tim will navigate the 3.27 mile road course behind the wheel of the 380 horsepower Porsche.

| Synergy Racing, whose race shop is located on the grounds of VIR, currently fields a Daytona Prototype and two Porsche GT3 Cup cars in the Rolex Sports Car Series. With just two races left in the season, their top driver, Craig Stanton, leads the GT Drivers Championship and Synergy sits in second place in the GT Team Championship only six points out of the lead. |

| "This testing opportunity is huge," exclaimed Stephens. "The goal is to get accustomed to the Porsche as quickly as possible, turn consistent quick laps, and create chemistry between the team and me," Tim pointed out. "If everyone leaves the test feeling confident and excited about working together, this could be the beginning of a very strong relationship for 2006 and beyond." |
