2007 Grand America Rolex Sports Car Series Schedule Announced
October 14, 2006
The 2007 Rolex Series schedule has been released to the media! The calendar will feature 13 GT races headed by the famous Rolex 24 at Daytona. '07 will see an increase of GT / Daytona Prototype split races in an effort to promote better racing and reduce interclass congestion on smaller circuits as field size continues to grow beyond promoters' forecasts. 7 of the 13 weekends will be in the traditional mixed DP/GT race format. 5 will be split race weekends, and the Lime Rock date will once again be a GT-only feature event. After an absence from Canada in 2006, a north-of-the-border race date is set at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal for an inaugural event with the NASCAR Busch Series. Adding to the international market, the Rolex Series makes its third consecutive yearly visit to Mexico City at the Autodromo Germanos Rodriguez venue. The 2007 television broadcast schedule will be announced by Grand-Am and SPEED Channel at a later date.
